Faculty Support
Demonstration of LARCStar: Oral Proficiency Assessment Instrument
Faculty and staff are invited to demonstrations of LARCStar, a program to create oral online tests that is very easy to use:
With this software faculty can upload their own multimedia prompts. Faculty can fully manage the test and the students. They sign the students up with a user name and a password, which students then use to take the test. The test can be taken anywhere, but the LARC multimedia center is well equipped for students to take the test. Student answers are recorded and saved on the LARC servers for faculty to access at their convenience. Student records are on file and can be instantly graded. As soon as the test is graded, students can log in and review their grades.

Digital Media for Language Teachers
Workshop for Foreign Language Council of San Diego: Have you ever sought to integrate sound, still images and video into your classroom presentations but are just not sure how to do it? Fear no more! Sixteen participants learned to create products that they can use immediately in their classrooms and that can also be imported into exciting new learning tools that may later be integrated into the Digital Media Archive, an on-line resource available free to all users world-wide. Novices searched new web sites for integration into their lessons. Experts helped those who are hungry to learn advanced skills with one-on-one tutoring by technological wizards.
